Membership

The Native Women's Collective is a nonprofit organization supported by donations, public funding and memberships. Our memberships provide a wide range of services for our members. Benefits and additional membership options may be added as we grow as an organization. Memberships begin on January 1 (or date thereafter on which you complete the form) and end December 31 of each year. Registered members will receive an email asking for confirmation of continued interest of retaining their membership affiliation during December of each year. Affiliated memberships and Friends of the NWC memberships may be cancelled at any time.

Membership Options

Affiliated Membership (self-identified Native American)

For members of federally recognized tribes, descendants of federally or state recognized tribes, or descendants of a historically recognized tribal group.

Consign and/or sales of items at NWC tables/ events/ retail space
Free Attendance at NWC Workshops
Priority registration at NWC Workshops and Events
Newsletter Subscription
Eligibility for yearly art drawing at Holiday Event.
Eligibility to serve as Board Member if elected.

Items consigned with the NWC will be charged 15% of the total sold as a donation to the NWC for operating costs.

*all items made for and/or at NWC workshops, events or gatherings are property of the NWC unless otherwise agreed upon.

Board Elections & Board Service:

To be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors for the Native Women’s Collective, you must first be an affiliated member or friends of the NWC member. Board members are elected for a term of three years. The next Board election will be in April 2025. Registered members will be given notice of Board Elections.
Board Description: There will be no more than seven (7) and no fewer than three (3) directors.
The board aims to have a Board of Directors that is at least 51% of Native American descent.

Eligibility: Board Directors must be members of the Native Women’s Collective.

Term: Board Directors serve a term of three years.

Election Procedures: Nominations are made by the Board of Directors. Each director may make one nomination. Each nomination must be seconded by an additional director. Directors are then appointed by a majority decision of the Board of Directors Officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer).
