Kewoy Keech Reek Initiative
(Our Burden Basket is Full)

The Kewoy Keech Reeek Initiative is a multi-year project designed to create, house, and offer resources for regalia and other materials required to carry on cultural traditions, demonstrations and cultural arts. Regalia pieces connect people in physical, spiritual and social ways to the past, present and future.  This initiative is an opportunity to contribute to ongoing lessons of reciprocity and respect that are a part of Native cultural traditions.

For our inaugural project under this initiative we are focused on teaching and making regalia items for use in women’s coming-of-age ceremonies through a series of workshops called Cho’ho-kuem’! (Let’s Make It!)

Cho'ho-kuem'! (Let's Make It!)

A series of workshops focused on teaching and making regalia items for use in women’s coming-of-age ceremonies, cultural demonstrations and community events. The workshop series is designed as a way for participants to give back to their community while also learning the process of making regalia, singing songs, and connecting in a meaningful way with culture and heritage.

Registration for the workshops series will be available as workshops are scheduled. We are still seeking funding to help complete the entire series. If you are interested in funding one of the workshops please contact us to make a tax deductible donation!
